Thomasi S/A develops solutions for concrete forms by using OSB panels

Thomasi S/A, together with the Chilean multinational Masisa, is developing a series of coatings to enable application of OSB panels in concrete forms.

In spite of showing proper mechanical properties, these panels show high absorption and swelling rates, that compromise their useful life and reuse in concrete forms. In order to improve performance, Thomasi S/A choose to cover them with MDO efficient films that provide high tightness and resistance to panels.

This type of coating shows a number of advantages such as an excellent concrete surface finishing, resistance to impacts, fewer need of demolding agent, etc. In addition, MDO allows for more than 22 reuses in a single plate face, avoiding the undesirable need to turn venners in the form.

At this introduction stage, DUO Formas, a company specialized in concrete-ready forms, will apply the product in the works, where Thomasi intends to measure in practice this new solution performance.
